DIRECTOR, FINANCE & ACCOUNTING – SINGAPORE

Our client is a global organisation and an aggressive player in the business services sector. Driven by exponential growth and with a pipeline of acquisition activities, they are seeking a highly dynamic individual with strong leadership qualities to take up the role of a Director, Finance & Accounting – Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, budget managed functions
  • Develop and maintain timely & accurate the accounting and financial reporting requirements for the Company.
  • Ensure proper control and custodian of the Company’s assets.
  • Manage financing requirements as well as balancing the risks exposure for the Company.
  • Streamlining the administrative processes through policies and procedures.

Job Specifications

  • To consolidate the financial information for the Company so as to provide for timely submission of monthly reports to the Regional HQ.
  • To ensure and constantly improve the accounting structures and systems so as to enable appropriate financial reporting standards.
  • To meet both regular as well as ad-hoc reporting timelines set by Regional HQ and/or International HQ.
  • To conduct regular internal audits to ensure that all assets of the Company are properly accounted for and taken care of.
  • To review and align reporting standards in accordance with the templates issued by the Regional HQ.
  • To attend to all Regional Finance calls/meetings and participate actively to seek improvement in the APAC Regional reporting and standards.
  • To coordinate and follow through with the external auditors, tax agents and corporate secretarial representatives on necessary statutory requirements.
  • To liaise with the bankers and/or Global Treasury on all financing needs and to acquire them at the most competitive costs.
  • To review and manage cash-flow forecast of the Company such that all efforts are taken to provide reasonable cash availability and utilization.
  • To liaise with external parties on all industry related requirements so as to ensure that the operations of the Company are in compliant and safeguarded at all times.
  • To report to the Regional HQ on any important matters arising as soon as they have been made known or identified so that necessary actions can be taken.
  • To manage and reduce the AR ageing to a desired level as well as in accordance with the annual Focus 5 target.
  • To ensure the proper management of the Company’s expenses within budget so as to achieve better financial performance.
  • To prepare realistic budget and forecasts for the Company taking into considerations of business, operations, industry and economic sentiments.
  • To perform any other administrative duties that may be assigned from time-to-time by his superior.

Qualifications / Knowledge

  • Degree in Accountancy or other professional Accountancy qualifications
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience in regular budgeting and forecasting with variance analysis.
  • Able to work under stress and meet deadlines

DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY

Our client is one of the market leaders in the Corporate Travel Management organisation. The company is experiencing exponential growth in the past few years and is now expanding its talent pool of leaders and Strategic Account Managers.

You will lead and manage small to large scale projects/programs focusing on business process improvements by using technology advancement and innovation. To succeed, you will need to communicate effectively with clients and all levels of management; able to manage multiple projects across work teams; prioritize and organize effectively in the decisions making process in solving business and operational issues. You will provide methodologies, support and guidance in enabling and delivering process improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy and value to our customers. To achieve this, you will work closely with the business and operations managers in Singapore, and other cross functional teams such as Asia Pacific Operations, Performance Solutions, Technology vendors, etc. You will serve as an internal consultant and will lead results-oriented performance improvement initiatives to drive cost-per-transaction down. Working with the Operations team, you will also lead the training and service quality improvements for the Operations floor, focusing on improving the consultants in the areas of booking accuracy, productivity improvements (speed & performance), Multi-GDS knowledge, and phone communication style and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, prioritization and selection of process improvement opportunities that are aligned to the organisation’s business/functional goals and strategies, i.e. defect reduction, cost avoidance, loss reduction and/or revenue enhancement
  • Develop and prepare project charters and business case to justify proposed projects
  • Overall project management for the improvement projects and initiatives
  • Recommend and facilitate quality and change management processes to align with strategic needs such as identify customer needs and key drivers to reach Net Promoter Score (NPS) and customer satisfaction goals with financial benefit
  • Coordinate with 3rd party Business Analyst and developers to derive best of breed solutions
  • Coordinate with the Company Performance Solution team for Point Of Sale/Mid Office/Back Office process improvement
  • Internally manage change and business transformation by communicating effectively, influencing and training the Operations and business teams, including travel consultants, on the agreed new process improvements changes and technologies implemented
  • Coordinate with Regional Lean Six Sigma SME, to drive process optimization
  • Share leading practices within and across the business segments
  • Engage and work with Head of Departments to streamline existing processes, drive efficiencies, eradicating non-value added processes and establish process ownership by:
    • Identifying and driving business improvement through root cause and data analysis
    • Facilitate workshops with relevant stakeholders
    • Perform gap analysis mapping and analysis of business processes identifying improvement opportunities

Job Requirements

  • Good Degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Business Management
  • Experience in complex organisations and matrix reporting relationship
  • Strong business and technical skills in areas of: Metric Development, Lean Methodologies, Visio, DMAIC and team facilitation/training
  • Broad business knowledge and ability to link customer needs with business processes
  • Proven ability to interact with senior management
  • Dynamic, self-driven, resourceful with a strong business acumen
  • Exposure in travel/airline industry would be advantageous but not essential
